H-Game 1955: Once Ever After v1.0

Developer: Sierra Lee
Version: 1.0

Everyone knows how the story goes: innocent, 18-year-old Red Riding Hood goes into the woods and is corrupted by the naughty, naughty Big Bad Wolf. Ingrid is the newest Little Red Riding Hood: she doesn’t know what awaits her in the dark woods, but she knows that it seems exciting.

But Ingrid’s world is only one of an infinite number of Tales, and those stories are starting to bleed over into one another. War is coming, and Ingrid doesn’t even know what war is. Nothing will ever be the same, and the only weapon Ingrid has to face the changes is sexy fun.

Developer Notes

Reasons you might not want to play
I hope this version will be pretty solid, but let me give more information about its current state for those who are short on time:

1) Maps are only final for the first several hours, then revert to placeholders.

2) There’s the risk of recently introduced bugs. For example, just yesterday I fixed something that would have stopped players from advancing. In fixing a late game bug, I accidentally made an earlier advancement scene inaccessible. I hope there’s none of this, and have replayed for a while, but some bugs are inevitable with this much content.

3) There are a few lingering issues. Late in the game, I experienced negative HP regen, and I haven’t been able to figure out why. It’s most likely a specific item or equippable skill, so pay attention if this starts happening to you. Likewise, there’s a mysterious rare bug where the enemy selector freezes until restart.

If there are game-stopping bugs, I’ll put out new builds as quickly as possible. If not, there will be a 0.4.1 polish update… though I’m not sure when, given the length of the game compared to a normal update.

Stuff if you do play
Please pay attention to the following:

1) Record your amount of gameplay time up to the last remade map, the first ending, and the true ending.
2) How often and how long does the loading screen come up for you? Give computer specs if it’s very often.
3) If you notice either of the bugs mentioned above, please report anything you were doing just before they happened.
4) Do you think the game should have a quest log? I don’t like them, but this one isn’t purely linear and I could try to add it all in one run later.

As mentioned, I think this will be 20+ hours of content, so people won’t get through it quickly unless you have a lot of time to binge. Give feedback however is most convenient for you, but it’d be nice if a few people sent it in chunks. Of course, let me know immediately if there are progress-inhibited bugs!

I believe that’s everything I intended to say. I hope everyone has a good weekend, perhaps including OEA!
